It’s not a sit down dinner, more of an open house and lots of food gets chowed down all evening. This year I will be premiering this new dish, Baked Brie with Honey.

TheBaked Brie with Honey

Yield: 5

Take a bite of warm, gooey brie and take a load off this holiday season!

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 5 minutes

Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 wheel of Brie- you can make this is partial wheels just as easily, I’ve done it tons. Just watch the cooking time as it softens a bit faster, mine is done in 5 minutes with a partial wheel.
  • 3-4 tablespoons honey- this is what makes the nuts taste caramel-y
  • 1/3rd cup chopped cashews or other nuts of your choosing
  • Optional Toppings- drizzle of balsamic, or a flavored balsamic, fresh or dried cranberries, a touch of smoked salt, fig ANYTHING!

Instructions

  1. Heat your over to 350 degrees
  2. Once the oven is preheated- line your sheet pan. I prefer the non-stick sheets over parchment for this as I want to quickly and easily move the cheese off the pan and onto my cheese plater. I would NOT recommend foil for this recipe.
  3. Set the cheese in the center of your sheet pan.
  4. Drizzle with some on the honey and then add the cashews over the top. Drizzle with the remaining honey. I set a small amount aside for drizzling after cooking
  5. Bake in the oven for about 10minutes. Keep a close eye, you want the wheel to keep it’s shape and not turn into a puddle in your oven. I start checking at around 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and with a large spatula set on a flat serving board. The one in my photo is this slate number from crate and barrel. I use the spatula to transfer any warmed honey from the cookie sheet back on top of the cheese
  7. Serve with a small knife for cutting and spreading!

Notes

Helpful Equipment-non-stick sheet pan liner– this is what I have but I saw Costco has a different kind on sale right now that I used at my mom’s house growing up. I think that would also work well.
